The School District of Brown Deer gave two presentations at the State Education Convention which was held January 22-24. áPresentations were made about our wonderful STEP Program, led by Jan Williams, and our character education program, The Brown Deer Way. áPlease see the links below to view the presentations:

K4áRegistration
If you have a student who will be 4 years of age by September 1st and you are a resident of the Village of Brown Deer, but cannot attend the registration night, you can register in the District Office located at 8200 N. 60th Street any time between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Please see the information below for more details on the documents necessary to register for school.áIf you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give us a call at 414-371-6750.

Open Enrollment begins February 1st
The open enrollment period for the 2016-17 school year will begin on February 1st and be open through April 29, 2016. áOpen enrollment allows students to apply to attend district other than the one they reside in. áFor more information regarding open enrollment please see the brochure below. áUnfortunately, the School District of Brown Deer does not have any open enrollment seats available for the 2016-17 school year.

Friends of Brown Deer Theatre
Help us to support the theatre program at our schools. Our district is fortunate enough to have some very talented students and staff who are interested in making our theatre productions successful. From plays to musicals, to improv Brown Deer Middle/High School has something for everyone. áHelp to make a difference in the lives of our students by becoming a member of the Friends of Brown Deer Theatre. áBy helping to support our programs, you will receive ticket vouchers to be used at any performance!á

MATC Promise
In September of 2015, Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) introduced the MATC Promise, which provides free college education for area high school graduates who meet the eligibility requirements. áWhat is the MATC Promise? MATC will pay tuition and fees after federal and state financial aid have been applied for eligible students for 4 consecutive semesters taking up to 15 credits each. (Does not include summer semester). á
To be eligible students MUST:
  • Graduate on-time in 2016
  • Apply for admission by December 1, 2015
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 15, 2016
  • Achieve a minimum score of 16 on the ACT by May 1, 2016
  • Have a 90% attendance rate during 2015-16 (senior year)
  • Achieve a minimum 2.0 GPA during 2015-16 (senior year)
  • Student and academic program must meet eligibility for federal and Wisconsin financial aid
  • Have an expected family contribution (EFC) of $3,000 or less
  • Enroll as a full-time student at MATC for the Fall 2016 semester.

Peachjar Electronic Flyers for Parents
The School District of Brown Deer has implemented a new electronic flyer distribution system. By making this change, the School District will be able to save paper, trees, time and money. áHopefully, now you will have all of the information you previously received in paper flyers, or possibly not at all, available in the convenient click of a button. Just look for the orange Peachjar logo on either of the school websites for recent flyers. áFor more information on how to post a flyer on Peachjar, just click on the button below.

Thanks for Making a Difference
The Education Foundation of Brown Deer is announcing a new program, Thanks for Making a Difference, that will provide a way for parents, students, community members, and alumni to recognize teachers, coaches and other staff members who have been inspirational and/or made a difference in their lives or in the lives of their children. áIt also is a way to honor or remember a friend or family member, by making a tax deductible donation to the Education Foundation in their name. áYour gift supports education and innovative programs for all students throughout the district.

The Thanks for Making a Difference form is available here. áDonations may be sent to the district office, any school office or made online. áIf making your donation online, please send the completed form to the district, school office or edfoundation@browndeerschools.com
